Canadian actor Alex Mallari Jr. is of Filipino and Canadian descent. His roles in the television series Dark Matter (2015–2017) on Syfy, the feature film The Adam Project on Netflix, and the sitcom Ginny & Georgia on Netflix have brought him widespread recognition since 2021.
Although he was born in the Philippines in 1988, Alex Mallari Jr. spent his childhood in Scarborough, located in the province of Ontario in Canada. Taekwondo, in which he has a third-degree black belt, was one of the sports in which Alex Mallari Jr. competed at the national level. He won the Junior Canadian National Taekwondo Championship twice during his time as a competitor. On the other hand, he stopped doing it when he was 13 years old. After that, he became interested in basketball with the objective of making a career out of it, but an accident stopped him from achieving that objective.
Alex Mallari Jr. made a choice to pursue a career in acting when he was still a student at the University of Toronto. He is now an established actor. The role of Four in the Syfy television series Dark Matter, which was derived from the comic book series of the same name, was his first role that received substantial notice. In the three years spanning 2015–2017, he had a starring cast member position on the series in question.
