Canadian actress and model Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. She starred as protagonist Devi Vishwakumar in the American drama series Never Have I Ever, which airs on Netflix. Mississauga, Ontario, is the place of Maitreyi Ramakrishnan’s birth and upbringing. She graduated from Mississauga’s Meadowvale Secondary School.

In 2019, Mindy Kaling picked Maitreyi Ramakrishnan from among the 15,000 people who had responded to an open casting call for the program. At the recommendation of a friend, Ramakrishnan recorded an audition video on her mother’s camera at a public library. A screening test in Los Angeles, followed by an offer of the part, followed her submission of four further videos.

The American Eagle apparel company named her a brand ambassador in March of 2022. In the most current season of Never Have I Ever, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan returned to the role of Devi Vishwakumar. Production began at the end of November 2021 and ended in the latter half of February 2022. On August 12th, 2022, the next season will debut on Netflix.
