Thomas Antony Olajide, who goes by the name Thomas Olajide, is a Canadian actor based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Black Boys, a stage piece about Black Canadian LGBTQ+ identities, was produced by Buddies in Bad Times in 2016, and he co-created it with Tawiah M’carthy and Stephen Jackman-Torkoff, for which he got a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Actor at the 10th Canadian Screen Awards in 2022. Dora Mavor Moore Award nominees for 2017 included Olajide, M’carthy, and Jackman-Torkoff for Outstanding Ensemble Performance.
His other theatrical credits include Lynn Nottage’s Ruined for Canadian Stage, Michel Nadeau’s And Slowly Beauty at the Belfry Theatre and the National Arts Centre, and King Lear, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Love’s Labour’s Lost at the Stratford Festival.
Both the short film Mariner and the feature picture White Lie featured him in lead roles. With recurring parts in the online series Inhuman Condition and Nomades, he was nominated for a Prix Gémeaux in 2020 as Best Actor in a Youth Digital Series for his work on the latter.
He attended both the Canadian Film Centre’s Actors Conservatory and the National Theatre School of Canada.
