Miryam Charles’s Biography

Montreal-based director, producer, and cinematographer Miryam Charles is of Haitian and Canadian descent. She has also worked in the film industry in Haiti. She has produced a number of short films as well as full-length features. This House (2022), Drei Atlas (2018), and Goon are some of the movies that made Miryam Charles a household name (2011). Her movies have been shown at a number of festivals, both in Quebec and all around the world. This House, the director’s debut full-length feature film, was shown at the Berlinale and the AFI Film Festival earlier this year. Additionally, it was selected as one of the Top 10 Films of the Year at the Toronto International Film Festival. During the Locarno Film Festival, she also presented the short film At Dusk to the public.
