The Australian indie electro-pop band Confidence Man was created in 2016 in the city of Brisbane, in the state of Queensland. In April 2018, they launched their first album, which was titled Confident Music for Confident People. The front duet, together with the other members of the band, have performed at a number of festivals all throughout Australia, the most notable of which is Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival.
The year 2016 marked the beginning of the band’s existence. The members of Confidence Man had previously played in different bands, such as The Belligerents, Moses Gunn Collective, and The Jungle Giants, and they employ pseudonyms when they perform as Confidence Man. They had encountered one another in the Brisbane music scene. They began creating dance music together, at first as a “sort of joke,” but later realized that the content was worth exploring and decided to take it more seriously.
